Dr Grace-Ann Biggs Allen is a trained entomologist. She utilises her scientific methodology across her career as technical officer in 2011 to currently Senior Director ISO Quality Systems Division (QSD). She successfully led the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce to be the first in Jamaica to attain ISO 9001:2015 QMS: Certification in 2022 and re-surveillance audits in 2023 and 2024.  

Her qualifications include Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Natural Sciences; a Master of Philosophy; and Doctor of Philosophy in Zoology (Entomology) from University of the West Indies, Mona]. Other certifications include MBA Agricultural Entrepreneurship from University of Technology Jamaica; Professional Evaluation and Certification Board: Senior Lead Auditor [ISO 9001:2015]; Lead Implementer [ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 22301:2012 – Business Continuity]; Risk Manager [ISO 31000:2009]; and is trained in HACCP, SQF and ISO 17025:2017 Accreditation. 

Dr Biggs Allen started her career in charge of Research and Development at Trade Winds Citrus Limited (Tru-Juice) between 1987 and 2009. She moved on to Senior Food Storage Scientist at Food Storage and Prevention of Infestation Division (FSPID) from 2009-2011 before joining the Ministry.  

The Westmoreland native enjoys driving long distances and has been married for almost four decades and they share two daughters.
