Profile

Miss Lliana Blake is an experienced policy professional, who entered service at the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce in 2009. 

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and International Relations (with honours) from the University of the West Indies.  

During her tenure, she has been assigned several responsibilities relating to areas such as small-business development, manufacturing, services, medical cannabis, bamboo, and craft.  

Miss Blake has gained dynamic professional experience as the chair of the Medical Cannabis Alternative Development Pilot Project Steering Committee; co-ordinator of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Model Network; member of the Manufacturing Technical Working Group (Tourism Linkages Network); service to the Medical Cannabis Development Taskforce; service to the Ministry’s Technical Policy Working Group; service to the National Craft Council; and service to the Manufacturing Productive Input Relief (PIR) Working Group. 

In 2019, Miss Blake led the tabling of the National Craft Policy of Jamaica as a White Paper in the Houses of Parliament, which resulted in its promulgation in 2020. She also championed the implementation of the National Manufacturing Strategy of Jamaica, which was approved by Cabinet in 2020.
