Speaking at a welcome reception held at the Hope Gardens office of the Ministry, he said “The manner in which we plan to operate this enormous Ministry is to use the strengths of Industry and Commerce to link with the Ministry of Agriculture, so that together we can share common experiences, methods and techniques … so that together, we can build a strong team, working to develop important areas such as agro-industries”.
Mr. Samuda and Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry, Hon. J.C. Hutchinson, outlined their expectations to members of staff.
“We look forward to the contribution that every single member of staff will make. We come to you as persons willing to work with you,” Mr. Samuda said.
The Minister also pledged to give the staff the tools necessary to get the job done in an efficient manner.
For his part, Mr. Hutchinson said he is pleased to be a part of the Ministry and gave a commitment to the development of agro-economic zones.
