In a clever reference to the export of knowledge services through Jamaica’s growing BPO Sector, Senator the Honourable Aubyn Hill said the graduation of 114 GSS apprentices under the Global Services Sector Project should be seen as added support for Jamaica’s growing export industry.

“Talent continues to be Jamaica’s competitive advantage in the global outsourcing space and is one of the main areas of discussion when engaging investors for the country.”

The GSS Project is a five-year initiative between the Government of Jamaica and Inter-American Development Bank. It seeks to support the Government in developing strategic economic sectors through increasing the pipeline of talent, strengthening the investment ecosystem and national export regime.

The graduation ceremony was held (Sept. 14) at the Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) in New Kingston, where 114 students were recognized for successful completion of assessments to qualify for the industry endorsed NCTVET Certificate in Supervisory Management, issued by the HEART/NSTA Trust.
